Certificate Award Ceremony : 116 JCSC

Dhaka, 27 May 2021: Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Plans), Bangladesh Air Force (BAF), Air Vice Marshal M Shafiqul Alam, BBP, OSP, BSP, ndc, fawc, psc has distributed certificates and trophy among the graduating officers as the ‘Chief Guest’ in the Certificate Award Ceremony of No 116 Junior Command and Staff Course (JCSC) held at Falcon Hall, BAF Officers’ Mess, Dhaka today, Thursday (27 May 2021). 

On his arrival at the Certificate Award Ceremony, Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Plans) was received by Air Vice Marshal M Nazrul Islam, BSP, nswc, afwc, psc, Air Officer Commanding, BAF Base Bashar and Group Captain Md Sharif Mustafa, BPP, fawc, psc, Officer Commanding, Command and Staff Training Institute (CSTI). In the opening address, Officer Commanding, CSTI gave a brief resume on the training and academic curriculums of No 116 JCSC.19 officers from BAF, 02 officers from Nigeria Air Force and 01 officer from Zambia Air Force have undergone this 14-week-long course which was started on 22 February 2021. The course is designed to train officers on effective command and staff duties within service, inter-service and joint service environments. Since inception of JCSC in 1976, CSTI is tasked to prepare future leaders of Bangladesh Armed Forces who can serve the nation with dignity and honour. The Chief Guest handed over the certificates to all graduating officers and awarded the “Chief of Air Staff’s Certificate and Trophy” to Squadron Leader Dhrubo Sarker, GD(P) for his overall best performance in the course. While addressing, the chief guest has emphasized on applied knowledge for the graduating officers and he thanked the government of Nigeria and Zambia for sending officers in this course. The command and staff skills that have been achieved in the course would also be of immense value in shouldering the future assignments, he added. He also appreciated the institute for conducting the course successfully despite the pandemic COVID-19 situation. At the end, he participated in a photo session with all graduating officers. Senior officers of BAF and other guests were present in the Certificate Award Ceremony.
